The Prime Minister of India, Shree Narendrabhai Modi declared ban on current currency notes of Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000. According to the experts, this is the biggest "surgical strike" by the government to curtail black money in the economy. The Union Finance Ministry on 8th November also said that new notes of Rs. 500 & Rs. 2000 will be published soon.
