Wi-Fi Widget is a 1x1 open source home screen widget that allows you to connect/disconnect to/from Wi-Fi networks. The difference between this widget and the Power Control widget is that this shows the SSID of the network you're connected to. This is a very useful feature for me, so it may be useful for you to.
