Smarty Pins: a Map Quiz Game by Google
On the 1st of July, Google started a map-based quiz game Smarty Pins where anyone can meet the challenge to test their geographical knowledge in 6 categories (Sports, Entertainment, Arts, Science, History, Current Events).
The idea behind is just simple: the game poses tricky questions on geography and displays a map of the region where the right answer is located. Your task is drop a pin to a correct location (a country, city, or landmark). In case you doubt to provide an exact answer, you can blindly try how lucky you are today and move a pin to any place.
At the beginning, Smarty Pins offers you 1000 miles as a point system to start with. In case you are right, you get points. If not, the game calcs the miles between your pin and the right location and subtracts them from your total score. For quick thinking, you'll be rewarded with bonuses. By the way, Google cheers you up with fun messages like “Well, at least you got the planet right” or "You just scored a solid B. Smile and you might get B+".
