Runtastic Orbit — a New Fitness-oriented Wearable Runtastic Orbit — a New Fitness-oriented Wearable

Runtastic is well known for the software it creates for fitness enthusiasts (check the Referenced Programs, the list of apps is really impressive), and now the company enters the hardware market with a fitness band of its own. There is nothing so 'brand new' in the concept of the device, as there is already a number of fitness trackers like Nike's Fuel Band or Samsung's Gear Fit, but the number of features and the relatively low price tag of $119,99 can make Runtastic's Orbit a very nice choice.

The Orbit can estimate the number of steps, distance traveled, number of burned calories; track your exercise activity, sleep patterns. It will send you a vibrating signal in case you sit idle for too long. Other unique features include an ambient lighting sensor, the battery capacity that provides a whole week of work and waterproofing that in theory keeps the device alive under 300 feet of water. Orbit is wirelessly synchronized with the Runtastic Me app, where it keeps all the information gathered. Moreover, the device also works with other Runtastic apps so it can also track your push-ups, sit-ups or any other exercises.

If you are going to buy a fitness tracker, think about Runtastic's Orbit. The device is currently available for purchase on Runtastic online shop for $119.99 and the shipping will start by August 11.
