Samsung Gear App Challenge for Gear 2
As most of the smartwatch users were complaining about the lack of applications, Samsung decided that the new Gear 2 will run Tizen instead of Android. Now, as the Gear 2 smartwatch is on the market, Samsung is looking forward to stuffing it up with some 'handy' applications.Starting from May 8 application developers will be able to register their products for «The Samsung Gear App Challenge». The grand prize of $100,000 cash will be waiting for the best developer and the whole prize pool will amount up to $1,25 million.

Hoping to stimulate the developers and shake things up at the applications market, Samsung also decided to host a Samsung Gear Hackaton and Developer Day in Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, and Brazil.
