Samsung might be testing its foldable smartphone Samsung might be testing its foldable smartphone

A Foldable display is the next big thing the Korean electronics manufacturer is currently working on this year. And it seems that this time Samsung wants to go beyond making a smartphone with curvy edges. The device called Project V (or Project Valley) was initially spotted back in June, but according to the recent leaks, Samsung may release it sooner that we expected. The device is rumored to be undergoing testing and might debut in January 2016.

The video above was first featured at CES 2013, and the devices demonstrated there were merely concepts at that moment. Now, Project V is getting ready for the release and judging by the information we've seen so far, (including the information brought by SamMobile) the end-product won't be far from the initial concept. The rumor has it that Samsung is testing two variants of the V, the first one powered by the Snapdragon 620 processor and the second one with the top-notch Snapdragon 820, which we reviewed previously. The foldable transformer device is also said to have 3 GB of RAM, a microSD slot and a non-removable battery.

Still, the information is subject to change, so it's too early to speak about the pricing or availability, although if Samsung is going to release it in January, we will probably learn more of Project Valley pretty soon.
